For the 9th year of the Rucksacks to Backpacks campaign, Freedom Mortgage along with nearly 1,000 employees and business partners generously donated $93,000 – beating last year’s fundraising total. With Freedom Mortgage leading the way and working with local USO (United Service Organizations) centers across the country, we provided brand-new backpacks and school supplies to over 4,800 children of active-duty military, National Guard members, and Reservists.
From July through August, we partnered with nine USO centers to organize 12 events to distribute supplies. At these events, families either hand-picked or drove up to receive a backpack and school supplies they needed to have a successful school year.
