For the 11th year of the Rucksacks to Backpacks program, over 530 employees and business friends joined forces with Freedom Mortgage CEO Stan Middleman and the company to raise a total of $100,000 for the United Service Organizations (USO) to provide backpacks and school supplies to the families of active-duty military, National Guard members, and Reservists.
"We are so proud to continue our partnership with the USO to bring school supplies to many children of military families across the country," said Stanley C. Middleman, president and CEO of Freedom Mortgage. "Each year, this campaign has brought smiles to many families and their children, enabling them to start a new school year with the tools they need. At the same time, their smiles fuel us to continue our work."
A special thanks to our employees who, in addition to making monetary donations, also contributed an additional 70 backpacks and over 1,700 school supply items. Over 80 employees also volunteered at backpack packing and distribution events held by their local USO Center. USO PA and NJ - Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, 8/10
ABOVE: Over 40 employees attended a distribution event at Joint Base MDL distributing backpacks and school supplies to 600 children of military families. This was the first in-person distribution event on this base since 2019.
