We recently held our 2019 Leadership conference for the top performing employees and emerging leaders. During this 3-day offsite retreat, both Freedom Mortgage employees and business partners gather to hear President and CEO Stan Middleman’s inspiring assessment and vision for the future.

During the conference Audrey Shapiro, SVP of Public Relations highlighted the company’s annual philanthropic efforts as a pillar of our core values. We also learned how we will continue moving forward with these efforts in the year ahead.

Leadership Conference segment Freedom Cares included Audrey Shapiro, Joe Brooks: President and CEO of the Liberty USO, and Brian Fitzpatrick: President and CPO of LoanLogics and Chairman for the annual American Cancer Society Gala. Each spoke about how Freedom Mortgage works to help raise awareness and support their organization and the community. Attendees also learned that President and CEO, Stan Middleman, was named recipient of the 2019 Individual Hope Award by the American Cancer Society of Southern New Jersey for his personal contributions in the fight against cancer. Annual Freedom Mortgage events were highlighted in the session including: the annual 5K Fun Run/Walk, Rucksacks to Backpacks school supply and backpack drive, the Canned Food Drive, the Toy Drive and the Project Gratitude letter writing campaign, all supporting philanthropic initiatives close to Stan’s heart.

Another exciting element of the Conference was a silent auction to support the Liberty USO and the American Cancer Society. Through the contributions of conference attendees, and a generous donation from Stan Middleman, $10,000.00 will be donated to support the missions of these organizations. Among the items auctioned, artwork supplied by ArtLifting and its artists, a for-purpose company that sells and licenses artwork created by U.S. Veterans who are impacted by homelessness or disabilities.

Community Spirit is one of Freedom Mortgage’s shared values. In order to celebrate this it was announced at the conference that a Community Service Day would be added to the paid time off calendar so that employees can support organizations that are important to them. It was also announced that Freedom Mortgage will focus on Veteran home builds through a newly formed corporate partnership with Habitat for Humanity International. Employees will get involved on projects in Indiana, New Jersey and Florida.

We are looking forward to next year’s conference!
