Although no perfect games were recorded, the August 2017 White First Flyer group certainly chose a winner when they conceived Freedom Mortgage’s most recent Stars ‘N Strikes charity bowling fundraiser.
The event, held at the local Pinsetter Bar & Bowl on April 30th, benefited Operation Troop Appreciation: a Pennsylvania-based nonprofit dedicated to building and sustaining the well-being of our servicemen and women.
In true Freedom fashion, the number of signups shattered the initial goal of 200, with 399 members of the Freedom family signing up to attend or donate to the cause. Over 200 employees and their families and friends strolled down the red carpet entrance to enjoy three hours of bowling, a catered lunch, and events ranging from face painting to raffles for prizes. These additional events, alongside a company bake sale complete with donations from Dunkin’ Donuts, raised an additional $796.
In total, $11,794 was raised for the cause. The event’s organizers were certainly impressed with the success of the initiative. Reflecting on the event, Project Manager Rachel Buckthorpe was “most excited to see employees from all different tracks coming together, chatting with their family and friends, all to support a great cause.”
If you missed the event, be on the lookout for upcoming opportunities to get involved and give back to the community. With the success of this year’s Stars ‘N Strikes, similar events are sure to follow!
